STUDENTS ENJOY CAPE BUS TOUR THROUGH MXIT COMPETITION!
(l – r) Jaco Griessel, Rikus van der Merwe, Divan Griessel, Paul Kilpert, Christo Kotze and Addo Louw check out the new Apple iPhone Rikus holds in his hand after he recently won the phone and a CitySightseeing Cape Town open bus tour for him and his 5 friends through a Mxit advertisement.
Stellenbosch University student Rikus van der Merwe and 5 close friends enjoy their day together on the CitySightseeing Cape Town open bus as they go on the ‘Mini Peninsula Blue Route’ tour on Wednesday 1st July 2009 in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. Recently Rikus entered the ‘CitySightseeing Cape Town Double Decker Deal’ competition advertised on Mxit in where he won a brand new Apple iPhone as well as an open bus tour along the Cape Peninsula for him and his friends that included a short visit to the Imizamo Yethu Township in Hout Bay. The friends had a great time together as a result of Rikus using Mxit not only as a powerful communication tool but as a means to embrace positive ideals like this sort of competition. Recently in a survey done by The Khuza Awards, who are South Africa’s biggest research-based youth marketing communications awards, it was proven that in certain demographics advertisements are more effective through MXit than TV.
